Q: What kind of organisation is ROTO?
ROTO is a charity Organization registered with the Department of Social Development as a NPO (non-profit organization) and a registered Section 21 Company NPC (non-profit company) in South Africa.

Q: What does ROTO stand for?
ROTO stands for 'Reach Out To Others'. Today the name ROTO is used in its own right rather than as an acronym.
Q: What about Section 18A Certification benefits?
Currently for all donations received, Section 18A Certificates can not be awarded as yet. Our Accountants BGR PYPER TURNER have applied for our PBO number whereby these certificates can be presented to SARS for further tax relief. Section 18A of the Income Tax Act No 58 of 1962 (the Act) allows donors to deduct donations made to registered Section 18A organisations from their taxable income (limiting such deductions to 10% of the taxable income of both corporate entities and individuals).

Q: How do we spend the monies raised, sponsored and donated to ROTO?
ROTO operates solely on philanthropic contributions from private companies and sole sponsors and donors.
We believe in accountability and transparency, and in doing so we act with integrity and follow best practices in governance and ethical best practices.
All donations and sponsorships are assigned to an actual project and event, any other income received will sustain ROTO during the year which will cover petrol, volunteer transport, office expenses, vehicle expenses, communication expenses and running cost.
